What Do I Want ?

I was watching this movie and two of the characters were talking about their lives. One of the characters said "Be selfish. Think about yourself first, think what do I want " ? So I thought what do I want ? A Husband for me and a Dad for K. A lovely home, work I'm passionate about. Really, that's it ? Yeah, that is it. Peace

My Mission Statement

I was reading this article about having a mission statement. It lists your purpose in life, what are you dreaming of, what are your goals and how are you going to use your talents and abilities.
My mission statement would be my purpose in life is enabling my family to live within our means without having to go to extraordinary lengths to get more money coming in. My purpose in life is to enable my son to learn while he is young to manage his money so he doesn't make the same mistakes I have. And to teach him everything I know. What am I dreaming of ? My Husband and K's Dad being here with us and us being a happy family. We are a happy family now, but a few pieces are missing from the puzzle. What are my goals ? To have a career I absolutely adore, one where I am excited to go to work on a daily basis, one where I'm helping people. How am I going to use my talents and abilities, to listen to the people I come into contact with and not make judgements with our having all the information first. Peace

No, Chivalry is not Dead !

My friend H asked her listeners (she's a DJ on a popular radio station here) if chivalry was dead. She got a very good response answering in the negative ! No, Chivalry is not Dead ! I happen to LOVE it when a man opens a door for me, or holds a door open for me or on the seemingly rare occasion lately (sigh) walks around the car to open the door for me ! Thanks Peace

Don't Deny Who You Are

The phrase I find most powerful is "Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you." Don't deny who you are to please another person. Denying yourself is like saying what I feel or say or think doesn't matter. It DOES matter ! Please remember that. Peace

When people show you who they are believe them

I saw that quote from the extremely wise woman, Dr. Maya Angelou. It says a lot. And not just in regards to men women relations, it means the same for your friends, whether they are men, women. I don't understand it when you are in a relationship, whatever it may be, and one person changes or maybe both people change. So then you wait for them to change back to the person they were. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I want for all men, women to know that quote. I believe it can help.

Living without passion in your life is akin to not really living, in my opinion. Find what you are passionate about and take steps to bring it into your life to what degree you can. Once you do that, all kinds of doors will open. Good Luck

Accountability

I was at the zoo yesterday with K and he was playing on a makeshift spiderweb. He was talking to another little boy and I have no idea what was said but they were getting ready to playfight. I said in a very loud voice, "No, Kane ! That is unacceptable !" The other child looked around at me and I said to him "You need to learn some manners." I looked around to see where his parents were and there was no-one around. I understand the need to let our children play unencumbered by us, but lets have some accountability when it comes to teaching children how to play. I should not have been the one to stop the two of them, his parents should have been close enough to intervene also.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, pc was sick, hard drive was full so I was not able to get my anti-virus to work ! No worries now, will be getting Mac soon so no longer having to worry about viruses is a HUGE load off my mind ! started school on Mon, classes seem really cool at this time.
